Main activities
Production control and physical-chemical analysis (quality-quantity) on incoming raw material, semi-manufactured and finished products. Research & Development activities aimed at the creation and formulation of new products to be introduced into the market. The laboratory conducts daily chemical-physical analysis on incoming raw material, semi-manufactured and finished products in order to determine their conformity to company standards.
Analysis
- Determining the Index of Refraction (I.R.) and the specific weight of liquid flavourings, concentrated flavourings, alcoholic and non-alcoholic syrups, paste and emulsion flavourings.
- Determining the Brix index.
- Determining the alcohol content of semi-manufactured and alcoholic syrups using the hydrostatic balance method.
- Determining the optical rotary power of essential oils in order to assess their conformity to standards declared by the supplier.
Gas chromatography-Mass spectrometry (GC/MS)
Using this tool, it is possible to analyse and quantify the type and quantity (in the order of milligrams) of every single chemical molecule present in every blend (flavourings, emulsions, syrups, essential oils, etc.) with extreme precision. As such, every single finished product may be analysed before being delivered to customers, as well as incoming raw materials that may be assessed for their conformity to standards expressed by suppliers, eventually detecting the presence of contaminants or other non-conformities in the purchased product.
IT IS POSSIBLE TO DEFINE THE CHEMICAL STRUCTURE AND QUANTITY OF EVERY SINGLE MOLECULE PRESENT IN A BLEND WITH EXTREME PRECISION.
Another important function of our laboratory is creating and developing new formulations of liquid flavourings, concentrates, in powdered and emulsified form.
Our laboratory possesses long-standing experience in the field of flavourings, which allows us to create new products aimed at satisfying the demands of our customers and personalizing specific products already being employed.
The creation of every single flavouring is based upon the selection of raw materials and qualified suppliers, according to careful planning, entailing instrumental and sensorial analysis in compliance with customer demands and ongoing legislation.
On a daily basis our laboratory therefore produces new flavourings in order to propose new formulations to our customers, to be principally employed in the confectionery sector – our company’s core sector.
In fact, our main objective is satisfying our customers in all respects by combining quality and rapidity as they are indispensible factors in continuously striving for improvement.
